Cine Club for Kids: up in the sky

Description
Every last Saturday of the month, from 10am to 1pm, children between five and twelve years old discover non-commercial kids movies. The films are selected for their quality and originality. In the creative environment of Wiels Centre for Contemporary Art, Dutch versions of the short films, innovative fictions, animation classics are screened. Parents who wish to attend the screenings are also welcome! After the movie a bilingual workshop (approximately 1 hour) allows children to unwind their imagination around the theme of the film. Participants experiment with different artistic disciplines, while a creative and sensitive approach to Dutch is also stimulated.

WORKSHOP

Two creative workshops in two disciplines.
Prior to the workshops, we visit an artwork, part of the ongoing exhibition 'From Dust to Dust' by Melvin Motti.

- Workshop bodily expression: We let ourselves be inspired by the flight of the birds and the work of the artist around dust, to explore the dynamics of circulation and distribution.

- Workshop plastic art: By repeating simple shapes, we make a drawing that plays with emptiness and fullness. An introduction to abstract composition, collectively realised in the form of a game.
