Description
In 2008, the collective Pica Pica (> Latin pica : magpie) was born from the dissolution of the graffiti crew "The ERS. The group gathers three former students from the Fine Arts Academy of Liege : Boris Margotteaux (1978), Manual Falcata (1979) and Jerome Degive (1980),
To cerebral or pompous art, Pica Pica opposes a spontaneous and experimental practice, inspired by sensations, images and materials gleaned from random wanderings, usually on bike and in non-places or forgotten areas in Liege.
Fragments of architecture, stones, pieces of wood... inspire their paintings, installations and drawings made with 6 hands through a process of ongoing exchange. Even though the bewilderment they oppose to the banality of things has a childlike quality, the vision of the world they propose is not naive.
