Online Project: David Robbins: Theme Song For An Exhibition

About this event

In conjunction with his solo exhibition at MADRE museum, Naples, artist and writer David Robbins produced a pop song, “Theme Song For An Exhibition,” with musicians in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As part of the project, Robbins asked museums and galleries to host the song online—a groundbreaking experiment in inter-institutional cooperation meant to reach and expand today’s art audience. WIELS is proud to be part of this experiment, which includes ten other major European and American art museums (ARC/Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris; Boston Center for the Arts, Boston; Centre d’Art Contemporain, Genève; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen; Contemporary Art Museum, Houston; IKON Gallery, Birmingham; MADRE, Naples; MOCAtv, Los Angeles; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago; Serpentine Gallery, London).

About the Artist

For three decades, in artworks and writing David Robbins has spearheaded the unapologetic recognition of the contemporary overlap between the art and entertainment contexts.
