Kelley Walker

About this exhibition
Kelley Walker’s work is informed by the infinite recycling of signs and images, and their consumption modes. The artist locates himself on the extreme end of a spectrum of critiques on the virtualisation of reality, initiated by pop art, prolonged by the practice of appropriation and the simulacrum, and abundantly theorised by Baudrillard or Virilio. Walker doesn’t aim at denouncing or noticing the loss of the original and real experience, but at finding ways to act as an artist with the images which have been infinitely recycled and which are the only horizon of our reality. As such, Kelley Walker is of the rare contemporary artists who ambitions to write a new chapter in a history which for many others has already ended.
