APPLICATION GUIDELINES

PART 1: APPLICATION PAPERWORK

Preliminary remarks:
-    Please write your Last Name, First Name at the top of each page
-    Please do not staple or bind materials

APPLICATION PAPERWORK MUST INCLUDE AND BE PLACED IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:

A. APPLICATION FORM Please download and fill out our PDF or Word application form.

B. PROOF OF PAYMENT An administration fee of 25€ must accompany the application. This fee covers the administration cost of processing application forms and is non-refundable in the event of your application being unsuccessful. The administration fee should be deposited or transferred to the following account:

Mandatory communication: LAST NAME & FIRST NAME followed by 2016 Residency Application

Please make a copy of the proof of payment, keep the original with you, and submit the copy with your application form.

C. RESUME Please include your exhibition and educational background.

D. ARTIST STATEMENT In 250 words or less, write a statement about your work and your process.

E. STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES In 250 words or less, describe your potential plans for projects, ideas and expectations for Wiels.

F. REFERENCES Please provide the name, email address, telephone # and address of three references who know you on a professional level and can comment on your recent work and artistic development.

G. IMAGE SCRIPT The numbers on the image script should correspond with the numbers marked on the image files on the CD-roms or the DVD (see PART TWO). Include the title, date, medium, dimensions, and a brief description of the work (less than 50 words for each image/video).

PART 2: DOCUMENTATION

We only accept printed images, CD-roms of digital images and DVDs. Slides or VHS are not accepted.

Please do not send original artwork!

10 Images maximum: printed or on a cd-rom
Each image file must be titled with your Last Name, underscore, First Name, image number. Example: Smith_John01.

Accepted File type: JPG only
Maximum size: A4 or 1000 px
Image resolution: 72 DPI.

FOR DVD
Only moving images, ie. time-based media, video, kinetic art or documentation of performance art, should be submitted on DVD. DVDs of still artwork or documentation of artistic process will not be viewed. For DVD pieces containing several work examples, please make each piece a separate chapter on the DVD for easier viewing.

DVDs will be viewed on DVD players &/or computers, so please test your DVD before submitting it.
