Description
With: Simon Thompson, Hagen Betzwieser, Angela Butterstein, David Catherall, Stephanie Kiwitt, Tiago Mestre, Szilard Miklos, Vítor Reis and Jochen Weber.
From July until September 2009, artists in residency at Wiels move in a large empty premises situated next to Wiels, consisting of 3 floors and a large warehouse space that is located at the back of the building. Artists have been invited from Belgium and other countries to occupy the building for the duration. It is intended that the space can function in an entirely different manner to its initial use yet still retain the ritual of work structured around the language of commerce. Circulation of ideas, objects and architectural movement are important to the buildings internal economy.
In the course of the summer, the public is invited to discover the results of the workshop and to participate in the events organized by the artists. If you wish to be informed of the Metropole Alliance events, please send an email to Devrim Bayar. You can also have a look at the photos of the workshop by Christophe Derivière on the online diaporama at the following link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/wiels/show/
