About this exhibition
Since 2010, WIELS and Lire et Ecrire Brussels South, thanks to the support of Alpha Culture, have offered weekly artistic workshops to an adult alphabetization group.
Taking inspiration from the exhibitions presented at WIELS, the workshops have allowed the participants to discover and experiment with various artistic techniques (engraving, painting, drawing, animated cinema...) while developing a reflection on today's world. Through this artistic practice, the goal is to reinforce the feeling of self-confidence, essential for the learning of writing skills.
These artistic workshops were coordinated by 2 artists: Katherine Longly and Melanie Ferrier, who were accompanied by Marie Evenepoel. The exhibition « I have so many things to say », presents the results from this year's workshops.
In parallel to this exhibition in the Project Room, a number of related projects will also be presented at WIELS :
- The film resulting from the theater workshops held by the alphabetization center La porte Verte of Molenbeek.
- The animation film made through the collaboration between the center of the Béguinage and the association Grafoui.
- A selection of books realized by the alphabetization associations of Molenbeek and Saint Gilles, as well as by the association Le maître mot from Ixelles.
This event organized in the context of the festival "Art et Alpha". More info : www.artsetalpha.be
